Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge Review

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales or “Salazar’s Revenge” is the latest edition of Walt Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Saga to finally set port.

The Verdict? –  6.5/10 – It’s good,  but it does not feel like the best Pirate adventure to date. It gets as dark as the depths of the open seas. It’s a must see for all Pirates of the Caribbean fans.
The film brings back a little nostalgia as Will and Henry Turner bring us closer to seeing everything come full circle. Then of course there’s Jack Sparrow…

“There should be a ‘Captain’ in there somewhere” (previous movie quote)

Ah yes, my apologies…  Captain Jack Sparrow! It’s a little difficult to believe that we are seeing the same Captain – who is the face of “Why is the rum gone?” –  as we get to actually see how he’s like when he has truly lost his way or perhaps found his own spirit broken. This ultimately leads from one thing to another and swoop, Barbossa’s your monkey’s uncle…or something like that.

The tone of the film is much darker than the ones that came before, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t enough humor. Salazar may have proven himself to be quite the formidable foe,  born from young Sparrow’s past. Eventually, everything you see will make something of a full circle… Except for that small gap,  because Captain Jack Sparrow prefers a full horizon than a circle.
